How TASMAC online booking works — and what it is not
Sarakku does not take orders, payments or bookings. TASMAC does, on its own portal, since 6 August 2026. This is what that service actually is — pay online, collect in person, same day — and the two things worth doing before you book: check the bottle is in stock at that shop, and know the price you should be charged.
What the official booking is
On 6 August 2026 TASMAC opened online booking on its portal, tasmace2e.in, across its outlets statewide. The stated purpose, in the launch coverage, was to cut queues and to stop counter overcharging — a booked price is a paid price. It works in Tamil and English.
It is a click-and-collect service. You pay before you go, and you still go. Nothing is delivered.
The steps, as launched
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Confirm you are 21+ | The legal drinking age in Tamil Nadu. You confirm it before anything else. |
| 2. Mobile number + OTP | Register a phone number and verify it with a one-time code. |
| 3. Pick a shop | Search within 5 to 25 km, or by shop number or district — any outlet in the state. The portal shows that shop’s inventory and directions to it. |
| 4. Add bottles, pay online | MRP is shown; you pay the listed amount online. |
| 5. Get a QR receipt | A receipt with a QR code is generated after payment. |
| 6. Collect the same day | Show the QR at the billing counter of the shop you chose. Orders not collected that day are cancelled and refunded with ₹10 deducted. |
What it is not
Not delivery. TASMAC does not bring liquor to your door, and no one else may. Not a reservation without payment. You pay first. Not a different price. MRP is fixed by law statewide, the same at the counter, in the portal and in every price on this site.
And it is not something a third party can do for you. If a site or app that is not TASMAC offers to take your TASMAC order, it is not TASMAC’s service.
The one thing to do before you book
The portal shows the inventory of the shop you pick after you pick it. DT Next reported that its inventory updates about every 30 minutes, and that an out-of-stock item is refunded or can be bought from another outlet — which means a booking can still end in a refund and a second trip.
That gap is what Sarakku is for. We count every TASMAC shop in Tamil Nadu through the day: which shops have your bottle right now, how many are left, whether the shop is open — before you commit to one. Check stock, then book the shop that has it.
Common questions
Can I order TASMAC liquor online?
You can book and pay online on TASMAC’s official portal, but you must collect in person at the shop you chose, the same day. No private site — Sarakku included — takes TASMAC orders.
Does TASMAC deliver to my home?
No. At launch (6 August 2026) TASMAC’s booking was pay-online, collect-at-counter only. Anyone offering TASMAC home delivery is not TASMAC.
What happens if I don’t collect my order?
Per the launch instructions reported by The Week and DT Next, an order not collected on the same day is cancelled and refunded with ₹10 deducted.
Is the price different when I book online?
No. MRP is fixed by law and identical in every shop and on the portal. The only legitimate extra at a counter is the ₹10 refundable bottle deposit.
Book with TASMAC. Check with Sarakku first. Pay MRP, plus ₹10 you get back with the bottle.
