TASMAC shops inside malls: which mall, which floor, and what's on the shelf
TASMAC calls its Elite shops "mall shops", but only a handful are actually inside a mall. We went through every address on TASMAC's list of 4,852 shops. Ten are in real shopping malls: six in Chennai, two on its edge, one in Coimbatore and one in Nagercoil. Here is each one, the floor TASMAC gives for it, and what was on its shelves on the night of 4 October 2026.
Every TASMAC shop in a mall
"Range" is the number of different bottles on the shelf, counting each size separately. "₹3,000+" is how many of those cost ₹3,000 or more, which is mostly imported whisky, cognac and gin. Floors and unit numbers are as TASMAC lists them.

Phoenix, VR, Express Avenue and Nexus Vijaya
Phoenix MarketCity, Velachery. Shop #957 is the mall shop most people mean. TASMAC's address gives two unit numbers, G-16 and G-16A, and also says first floor, so look for it on the first floor near the start of the G-numbered units. It is the widest-stocked mall shop in Tamil Nadu: 392 different bottles on 4 October, second only to an ordinary-looking Elite shop in Shanthi Colony, Anna Nagar (#440, 443).
VR Chennai, Anna Nagar. Shop #8900 is on the second floor, unit S-18. It had the most bottles of any Chennai mall shop that night, 27,762, so it is the least likely to have run out of the common brands.
Express Avenue, Royapettah. Shop #833 is listed at shops 49 and 50L, on the Club House Road side. It carries fewer bottles than the others, but it is one of only two mall shops holding Hennessy XO, the dearest bottle we found in any mall.
Nexus Vijaya, Vadapalani. Shop #29 is at LGF-15, on the lower ground floor. TASMAC still lists the mall by its old name, Forum Vijaya; it is now Nexus Vijaya Mall.
Ten Square and Alsa. The other two Chennai mall shops are less known. Ten Square Mall in Koyambedu (#460) has the other Hennessy XO and the sixth-widest range in the state. Alsa Mall in Egmore (#441) is where TASMAC opened its first premium outlet in 2013.
Outside Chennai
Vivira Mall, Navalur on OMR (#4601) is the mall shop for the IT corridor, with 21,520 bottles on the shelf. Laurel Mall on GST Road at Mamandur, near Madurantakam (#4147), is the odd one out: an ordinary TASMAC shop, not Elite, at the C3 Cinemas, with nothing above ₹800. It is a mall shop by address only.
In Coimbatore the only mall shop is on the fourth floor of Brookefields (#1779). Coimbatore has 28 Elite shops, the most outside Chennai, but none of their addresses names Prozone or Fun Republic. In Nagercoil, the shop at SP Mall (#4733) is still on TASMAC's list but had no stock at the last count.
"Mall shop" and "Elite": the same label, mostly not in a mall
In TASMAC's data, Elite shops carry a "mall shop" flag, and a few addresses say "(Mall Shop)" in place of a building name. That label does not mean a shopping mall. Of the 199 Elite shops on the list, 8 are inside one. The rest are on main roads and in commercial buildings, like the Elite shops in Kotagiri or Yercaud, which are tagged "mall shop" and are nowhere near one.
What Elite does mean is range. An Elite shop with stock had 124 different bottles on average on 4 October, against 71 in an ordinary shop, with about the same number of bottles overall. Mall shops push that further: five of the ten widest-stocked shops in Tamil Nadu are in malls. Before you go
The price is the same. A bottle costs its MRP in a mall shop, exactly as on a highway. The price list has every product and size. From October 2026 the counter adds a ₹10 deposit, refunded on the empty. If you are asked for more, here is how to complain.
12 noon to 10 pm. Mall shops keep the same TASMAC timings as every other shop. You reach them through the mall, so the mall's own doors matter too: Laurel Mall, for example, opens at 10:30 am on weekdays.
21 and over. The legal drinking age in Tamil Nadu is 21, and the counter can ask for proof.

Is there a TASMAC shop in Phoenix MarketCity, Velachery?
Yes. It is Elite shop #957, which TASMAC lists at units G-16 and G-16A, first floor, Phoenix Mall, Velachery Main Road. On 4 October 2026 it had 392 different bottles on the shelf (counting each size separately), the second-widest range of any TASMAC shop in the state.
Which floor is the TASMAC in VR Mall, Anna Nagar?
The second floor. TASMAC's address for Elite shop #8900 is S-18, VR Mall, Second Floor, Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Anna Nagar.
Is there a TASMAC in Express Avenue?
Yes. Elite shop #833 is listed at shop numbers 49 and 50L, Express Avenue, Club House Road, Royapettah. Its dearest bottle on 4 October 2026 was Hennessy XO at ₹39,180.
Is there a TASMAC in Forum Vijaya (Nexus Vijaya) Mall, Vadapalani?
Yes. Elite shop #29 is at LGF-15 (lower ground floor), Forum Vijaya Mall, N.S.K. Salai, Vadapalani. The mall has since been renamed Nexus Vijaya Mall; TASMAC's list still uses the old name.
Is liquor more expensive in a mall TASMAC shop?
No. MRP is fixed by the state and is the same in every TASMAC shop, mall or not, Elite or not. The counter adds only the ₹10 refundable bottle deposit. Anything above MRP plus ₹10 is overcharging.
What are the timings of TASMAC shops in malls?
The same as every TASMAC shop: 12 noon to 10 pm. You reach the shop through the mall, so the mall's own opening and closing times also apply.
Is there a TASMAC in a Coimbatore mall?
One. Elite shop #1779 is on the fourth floor of Brookefields, Krishnasamy Road, R.S. Puram. None of the addresses on TASMAC's list names Prozone or Fun Republic.
Are Elite shops and mall shops the same thing?
In TASMAC's own data, yes: Elite shops are flagged as mall shops. In practice only 8 of the 199 Elite shops are inside a shopping mall. The rest are on main roads and in commercial buildings.
